7 THINGS FAKE FRIENDS DO!

The Bible makes clear that you will know the character of a man by his friends. It is therefore imperative for you to surround yourself with like-minded people and people who share the same mission and vision for life.

Here are 7 Key SIGNS that your friend is FAKE:

  • They try to limit you. Your friend is supposed to boost you so if you have a friend who is always telling you that you are doing too much, that friend is jealous of your potential and is seeking a way to keep you back. Release that friend immediately because that is not your friend.

  • They always undermine your achievements. So if it is that you just accomplish a big milestone like completing your first degree or purchasing a car or landing a major contract, they always have to say something to downplay your achievement. For example, you share with them you just bought a house, they then tell you of their mansion they just bought or looking into buying. Pay attention to what they say and their reactions when you share the good news.

  • They LOVE to throw their successes in your face. So it is great when your friend has achieved something major and they desire to celebrate but you have some friend who will flaunt their success in your face to make you inferior and themselves superior. For example, your friend got married and you are still single. She will continue talking about her husband and how great marriage is and how happy she is. Here is the truth – most times people like that are miserable and unhappy. But that is not a good person to associate yourself with either way.

  • They show you NO REAL SUPPORT. Your friend is supposed to show up for you full-time once they can. But some so-called friends will only show up when it is convenient for them or if they are benefitting from showing up. My best tip is to release that toxic energy. You need people who will show up with love and they will go hard for you whether it is buying a car or starting a business.

  • They mislead you. A friend who gives you false information or gives you the map to the longer route to your achieving is LUCIFER in REAL LIFE. For example, you desire to purchase a house and he or she already did and you ask them for guidance, instead of telling you the easy way and even give you some contacts to speed up the process, they give you the longer process. Release that friend because that is the “devil in hell”.

  • They copy everything you do. If you have a friend who is always doing what they see you do, they are sending you a clear message – I CAN DO IT TOO AND EVEN BETTER!

  • They always have something negative to say and they call it “constructive criticism”. No, they are stepping on your confidence because they are fearful that you may become a BIG HIT. Release that friend and don’t look back.

Remember, your friends are a reflection of you so choose wisely.

Proverbs 13:20 ESV Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
